VENUE MANAGER & COMMUNITY LEAD – DOPPLER STUDIO

Location: Doppler Studio, Floor 3, 84 High Street, Leicester, LE1 5YP

Working Pattern: Fridays, Saturdays + Bank Holiday Sundays (core), plus flexible weekday hours

About Doppler Studio

Doppler Studio is a grassroots, culture-led venue at the heart of Leicester’s underground scene - built to

amplify music, community and creative expression.

We’re not trying to be the biggest venue. We’re building one of the most important - a space where promoters,

DJs and communities can create real moments, not just events. A place where DIY energy meets high-spec

production, and where every night has the potential to live far beyond the dancefloor.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a live music venue and shape it as your own.

You’ll be responsible for running Doppler Studio’s club nights end-to-end - from operations and staffing, to

building relationships with promoters and growing the venue’s presence in the scene.

For the right person, this is effectively the chance to run your own nightclub, without the financial barrier of

owning or leasing one.

Key Responsibilities

Venue Operations

• Lead all Friday, Saturday and Bank Holiday Sunday events

• Oversee full night operations including:

o Bar management and stock control

o Staffing (bar staff, security, etc.)

o Venue setup and close-down

o General upkeep (from core supplies to overall standards)

• Ensure a safe, inclusive and high-quality experience for all guests

• Manage budgets and ensure the venue is operating sustainably

Promoter & Community Management

• Be the face of Doppler Studio in real life - present, approachable and respected

• Build and maintain strong relationships with promoters, DJs and collectives

• Actively bring in new promoters and encourage them to host their nights at Doppler

• Support promoters to grow their events and build repeat business

• Help position Doppler as a must-host, must-experience venue in the underground scene

Creative Direction & Growth

• Contribute to programming, bookings and overall direction of the space

• Help shape marketing, social media and content strategy

• Maintain a strong and consistent brand presence across all touchpoints

What We’re Looking For

This is not a standard venue manager role - we’re looking for a hybrid operator, creative and connector.

You should be:

• Highly organised and capable of running a venue independently

• Confident managing teams and live event environments

• Deeply passionate about underground music and culture

• A natural relationship builder who thrives meeting new people

• Proactive, self-starting and commercially aware

• Someone who takes ownership and pride in building something

Structure & Earnings
